Blackout curtains and ready made blackout linings provide 100% light blocking and effective thermal properties. These curtains make for effective bedroom curtains and childrens curtains while being very easy to maintain.
Most ready made curtains arrive with standard lining which only serves the purpose of providing weight and protecting the front fabric to a certain degree.

Blackout linings are versatile and simply hook onto the back of pencil pleat curtains. These linings are very effective in blocking the light and keeping cold draughts away.
Unfortunately at the moment blackout linings cannot be used with eyelet curtains, unless they are actually stitched.

Blackout curtains are probably the most versatile ready made curtains. You do not need to attach linings at the back and the front fabric is self-lined with a blackout coating. Easy to maintain as they are machine washable and they are very hard wearing. Hence ideal as childrens curtains or nursery curtains especially if your kids sleep during the day.
