Size Guide

Width

We recommend 2 x gather (so each curtain panel is roughly the same size as your track). It is ok to purchase a curtain with more than twice the gathers.

• Measure your curtain track or pole using a metal tape (in cm or inches)
• Multiply the width you get by 2
• The figure you get should be your curtain width.
• The width can be larger, but for the best look at least multiply the size of your track or pole by 1.75.

Drop

For pencil pleat curtains on track

• Measure from the top of the track upto the point where you want your curtains to hang (usually about 1 inch of the ground)
• This may vary slightly depending on where you hook your curtains on the tape.

For pencil pleat curtains on pole

• Measure from the eye of the 'pole ring' upto the point where you want your curtains to hang (usually about 1 inch of the ground)
• This may vary slightly depending on where you hook your curtains on the tape.

Your drop can be altered. Please enquire if this is possible with these curtains.

What are interlined curtains?
Interlined curtains consist of three layers of fabric. In this case the beautiful front faux silk fabric and another TWO layers of linings.

Why use interlined curtains?
Interlined curtains are VERY popular in the made to measure industry. Mainly becuase the additional layer of lining serves various purposes. Firstly it protects the beautiful front fabric that you see, so this lengthens the life of your curtains.
Secondly the two layers provide a very effective light blocking property, which is important for bedroom curtains. (Most other ready made curtains have a very thin lining which even allows the glow of the street light through!)
Third reason; interlining was introduced with curtains to give the curtains more weight, especially thin fabrics like silk, where the curtains did not drape properly without the use of interlinings. So these curtains drape beautifully to create even gathers of fabulous fabric.
Finally interlined curtains provide thermal properties, so your curtains are able to keep the cold draught at bay and the avoid harmful UV rays during summer.

Are they like blackout curtains?
Interlined curtains consist of three layers of fabric. In this case the beautiful front faux silk fabric and another TWO layers of linings.The two high quality layers of linings prevent most of the light from coming through, infact they are perfect for childrens bedrooms and day sleepers. But no they are not completely blackout.

Are they thermal curtains?
Yes absolutely. The inner layer of lining is fabulous for keeping the cold out and heat in during winter months. And vice versa during summer. Brilliant isn't it.

What is faux silk?
Faux silk is an artificially made fabric to imitate the qualities and beauty of real silk. Faux silk has the same feel and the same shimmer of real silk. You can only tell the difference on very close inspection. Usually faux silk is made from polyester.

What is pencil pleat heading?
Alternatively known as taped heading; curtains of this type have a tape at the back of the curtain, on which strings are pulled from one side to create even gathers along the width of the panel. The strings are then knotted and put aside. Hooks are then attached at even intervals on the tape. These hooks are then hung / attached to the rings on your curtain pole or track.
This type of heading has lasted all changes in trends and styles. One of the most versatile headings. Advantage is that this heading style can be used with BOTH curtain tracks and curtains poles. Ideal for bay window curtains.
